The Guild publishes priorities for Horizon Europe’s Digital, Industry and Space cluster

The Guild is pleased to present its latest position paper, which outlines priority areas for Horizon Europe’s Digital, industry and Space cluster formulated by the network’s academic communities. This publication continues The Guild’s engagement with the programme’s Strategic Planning process. It also provides scientific advice concerning the strategic research priorities needed to unleash the potential of digital, industry and space technologies, while making sure they respond to our society’s most pressing needs.

The Guild outlines five priority areas for research that offer the highest potential in tackling global challenges: (1) Artificial Intelligence; (2) Advanced computing; (3) Manufacturing; (4) Advanced materials; and (5) Space.

For each of these areas, the paper identifies the major challenges our societies face today, the expected impact of collaborative R&I, and which key R&I orientations will contribute to their achievement.

We look forward to engaging in further dialogue with the EU institutions and stakeholders on the implementation of Horizon Europe. Please join us on 3 July for a public event on the strategic priorities for European R&I with Jean-Eric Paquet (Director-General, DG RTD) and Guild academic experts in Digital and Industry, Health, and Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities.
