PROJECT OVERVIEW
A southern spanish Foundation very active in the field of inclusive ICT is currently preparing a proposal for the Challenge 5, Objective 5.3 “ICT for smart and personalised inclusion”. The project, aims to provide a revolutionary inclusive solution -using Natural Interaction Devices as Kinect- in order to improve cognitive, emotional and psychomotor processes through the expertise provided by aces in each area.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Proposal Outline:
The Foundation for R&D Software is certified as a CAIT (Technological Innovation Supporting Center) in Spain (There are only 7 more entities at state-level). Very pro-active in several areas as mobile devices, internet of services and virtual environments, we are currently looking for partners to join a proposal focused on Natural Interfaces, an his application for improvement of human quality of life. This proposal will be submitted for Call 10, Challenge 5 at FP7-ICT-2013.
This project aims to develop a free-software-based inclusive solution that enables a framework for building interactive and virtual training worlds, a system to:
Psychomotor stimulation allowed. This concept plays a primary role in personality, behaviour and authonomy of persons.
Platform ready to Motor habilities training, at first ages, advanced ages or for those people with motor problems, congenital conditions or illnesses contracted.
Improving individual empowerment using induction processes.
Enable collaborative framework for different roles to work: Developers, 3D and 2D designers, software engineers, medical staff, psychologists, occupational therapy specialists etc.
This innovative platform will be composed by several modules:
1. Models Composition Framework (FFC): System ready to build and manage 3D models.
2. Tool for Environments Building (EBuilder): containing activities and tests, the aim is to build a tool that allows specialist, using the FFC component, to build a 3D-based Natural Interaction Environment.
3. Activities Monitoring System (AMS): this system will allow to check if activities defined are being done by final user in the correct way, accordingly to defined pattern.
4. Cooperative Market (AbilityStore): Web site for environments free exchange. This portal will allow users to publish environments built and decide if they want their compositions to be free or paid. AbilityStore will be integrated with secure transactions systems as PayPal or Google Checkout.
5. Inmersive Client based on Natural Interfaces (AbilityNIC): Linux-based application that allows final user to select a previously generated environment, built with Ebuilder tool, and interact “inside” it and follow the guide established by specialists.
Benefits the Project will provide:
Virtual worlds inmersive systems, opens a broader new horizon where traditional techniques could coexist with new and innovative ones, in a wide range of sectors, and achieving a 100% functional inclusive solution.
Social Solution where a lot of persons with several roles and skills, may collaborate and work together in order to build an environment for cognitive and/or motor training.
Makes easier the interaction between patients and therapists.
System will enable a way to build environments where persons with the same needs will be connected, and may share efforts and experiences.
The Ability Community will “feed” the system, and it will be growing releasing increasingly specific services and fitting therapies.
