Smart system for biometric authentication by retina scanning to be used as personalised mobile device for enhancing security (Biometric Secured Key) by recognising and communicating the identity of the user.
Motivation: Globalisation and networking effect a higher degree of freedom, however, also involves growing threats, raising a need to increase security. This can be achieved by more carefully and reliably authenticating persons before they are allowed to act or get access to resources. Usually persons authenticate themselves by owning a token (key, ID card, smartcard, etc.), knowing a password or PIN, or both. This does not protect safely against attacks.
A broader use of biometric modalities being naturally bound to persons, and a technical solution which is applicable in any situation, can significantly increase security.
